Customs of Aruba announces a new form of electronic payment system

Customs of Aruba announces a new payment system.

NEW FORM OF PAYMENT VIA ELECTRONIC “EPPA” SYSTEM
Department of Customs in Aruba hereby informs all its clients that as of September 1, 2016, Customs will officially introduce and go live with the “Electronic Payment Processing in Asycuda” (EPPA). This is a form of electronic payment system.

The benefits for the client applying this system will be that the client can make his/her payment transaction to Customs via their Bank account. The bank in turn will transfer the payment to Customs which will automatically reconcile in the Asycuda system.

There are two payment methods which can be applied in this system.
1. The client can pay via a transaction using the “Online Banking” option or
2. The client can make the transaction personally at the Bank.

Please keep in mind though that all charges forthcoming from the Customs Department in Asycuda will carry a “Unique payment reference”. This is a unique sequence of numbers which will be used to make the automatic payment match in Asycuda.

The aspects of utmost attention for the client are that he/she will have to choose the first option, “Bill Payment” and thereafter in the section “”Department of Customs’ “Unique payment reference”” fill in the correct payable billed amounts.
3. If the client applies the above information correctly then the payment transaction will be processed electronically and as soon as the payment is processed into the Asycuda system, the client will receive a notification via email. This email will confirm proof of payment received whereby the client will be able to print his/her “release of goods” document.
With the introduction of this new electronic method of payment, as of September 1, 2016, Department of Customs will no longer accept cash or check payments at their offices. Customs of Aruba will only accept the new electronic system of payment.
Please take good note of this new implementation in order to avoid any inconveniences that may arrive. Please also take note of the following Department of Customs’ bank accounts:
Aruba Bank NV : 260.366.0190
Banco di Caribe: 82582501
C.M.B. NV: 63647201
