Department of Customs announces forthcoming action in reference to control of Containers
Department of Customs announces that “Douane Team Vrijmaking” (transl. Custom’s team Release of Goods) will conduct a Customs’ control activity on all goods and merchandise that enter the island via containers.
The Department of Customs hereby informs all its clients that as of Monday, September 12, 1016 until September 16, 2016 Customs of Aruba will perform a control activity on all the import of goods arriving in containers.
In connection with this activity Customs wish to inform all clients that upon submitting the request for Customs’ service at the “Douane Team Vrijmaking”, that in addition to the “Release of Goods” document, copies of the Invoices including all other documents s.a. Bill of Lading, Exemption Forms, Import Licenses in reference to the goods that will arrive in containers should also be provided attached to the corresponding request form for “aanvraag wegvoering containers”(transl. application form release of container).
Customs would like this new action to proceed as efficiently as possible and therefore requests cooperation of all its clients to make sure include all the above mentioned documents at least one day in advance prior to the release of the imported goods before submitting the documents to the Client Coordinator in order to do all the necessary preparation beforehand and on time.
Please also take note that all Customs declaration which were labeled green or blue will also be controlled by Customs.
