Light industry in the Free Zone focuses on small- to medium-scale production and assembly of consumer-ready goods. These activities are less resource-intensive than heavy industry, offer faster turnaround times, and are ideal for companies seeking efficiency, flexibility, and international reach.

Typical light industry activities include:

  • Food and beverage processing
  • Consumer electronics assembly
  • Furniture and light manufacturing
  • Healthcare, cosmetics, and personal care products
  • Printing, packaging, and labeling services

By locating in the Free Zone, light industry companies benefit from duty exemptions, streamlined logistics, and direct access to global markets

In addition to trading and manufacturing, companies admitted to the Free Zone are also allowed to conduct the following supplementary activities: headquarters operations, pure holding company activities, distribution and other service activities, maritime activities, and other approved service activities.
These activities are recognized as part of the Free Zone regime and must meet the applicable substance and compliance requirements..
